Oregon 3A Boys Hoops

Oregon 3A Boys basketball should be another excited season of hoops. With only one all state player returning from either first or second team ( 2nd team Jaymeson Ye, Westside Christian), this will allow players to have an opportunity to have a breakout season.

Returning All State players to watch:

Sr. Cody Reece- Cascade Christian

Sr. Tyler Spink- Dayton

Sr. Braedyn Cantrell- Pleasant Hill

Sr. Kamir Hodge- Westside Christian

Sr. Tanner Steele- Vale

Sr. Britt Murray- Harrisburg

Sr. Jackson Risinger- Santiam Christian

Jr. Dawson Little- Warrenton

Top 2 Teams in the State..

Last year, Yamhill- Carlton cut down the nets and was awarded 2021 State Title. YC defeated Cascade Christian in a close matchup. This year will look a lot different for YC because Head Coach Heather Seely- Roberts is now the head coach at Lincoln HS and both Malachai and Moroni attend there as well. Two other key starters in Samuel and Spencer Horn transferred to Cascade HS.

As for the Cascade Christian, they will look different as well with the graduation of two All State seniors Matt McPheeters and Morgan Law. The Crusaders finish runner state champions two years in a row losing to OES and YC. Don’t feel to bad for them because CC will be ranked top 2 in our preseason rankings. Head Coach Brian Morse will be lead by super sophomore 6’10 F Austin Maurer. Maurer is one of the top sophomore in the country. Austin already holds an offer from University of Portland.

Another team to watch out for is Westside Christian. Head Coach Dave Henry will be lead by seniors Jaymeson Ye, Kamir Hodge and Landon Thon.
