Check out the interview with Shelby below:

What team did you play for this summer? What skills did you improve on during that time?

I ended up not playing for my team this summer. I sprained my ankle and my PT told me it’d be best to rest it and strengthen it over the summer. So I did basketball workouts trying to improve my ball handling overall, and workouts to improve my fitness.

What goals have you set for yourself this upcoming season?

This season my goal is to play more outside and be able to be a threat from inside and outside of the key. Also, my goal every game is to get the most boards.

Only graduating one senior from a state champion team, do you feel pressure to win back to back state titles?

There’s definitely a lot of pressure on us this year and an even bigger target in our backs but we have a great group that have been working hard in the offseason and we hope to be able to win again this year.

Outside of Olivia, Alexis and yourself, who else will you lean on to help lead your team back to Coos Bay?

This year our post Kaity Sizemore will play a huge role on our team and will definitely be someone that will help Lead us back to Coos.

What are your team goals for this season?

Our biggest team goal is to be the best conditioned and hardest work team in the state. We also want to be a lockdown defensive team this year. Winning state is somewhat of a goal for us but we like to take it one game.

Do you have a pregame ritual?

Our team pregame ritual is that we always hold hands and listen/ sing to the same song right before we go out and work up before every game.

If you didn’t play basketball, what sport would you play instead?

If I wasnt playing basketball , I would be playing softball. Softball is my best sport but I just love the game of basketball more .

Who do you think is better, Lakers or Clippers?

Lakers 100%
