2020 W Payton Garrison is one of the top players in 3A. Dayton is ranked #2 OSAA Preseason Rankings and Payton plays a major part in it. Garrison won a state championship as a freshman and looks to win it as a senior.

What team did you play for this summer? What skills did you improve on during that time?
I played for Team Jones this summer on Benji’s top team full of seniors. During my time on that team, I played more as a guard and worked on my ball handling and mid range jump shot.
What goals have you set for yourself this upcoming season?
My goals for this upcoming season is to make it to state again and try to make a run for the title. I also want to make first team all league and first team all tournament.
After graduating some key seniors, which teammates do you see playing a bigger role this year?
After losing those key seniors, the players I see stepping up and playing a bigger role this season are Tyler Spink and Justin Morales. They both played a lot last year and started for some games. They both have gotten so much better in the off season that they will be a big help.
What are your team goals for this season?
My team goals is going to state and playing for that championship and taking it home.
If you didn’t play basketball, what sport would you play instead?
If I didn’t play basketball I would continue playing football. I have played football since 3rd grade and I would try to play at the next level if basketball doesn’t work out.
Who do you think is better, Lakers or Clippers?
