Westside Christian are officially one win away from claiming “league title” and getting an automatic bid to the Elite 8.
Westside defeats De La Salle 61-58. Coach Henry and team claim there first “league title” and LCL #1 seed into the Elite 8. Westside was lead by there two studs juniors Jaymeson Ye and Kamir Hodge.
Now that the LCL is all sorted out, all eyes are now on the PacWest league. With a Westside Christian win, this could possibly mean one of these three teams Dayton, Yamhill-Carlton and Amity could miss the Elite 8. Three deserving teams that should be apart of it but one may not make it.
A MUST GAME TO WATCH!!
Wednesday
Yamhill- Carlton @ Amity
This game could be the deciding factor of who gets into the Elite 8. Amity defeated YC in the first round matchup, so now the pressure is on YC to win. If Amity sweep YC then Amity will be one of the teams that gets in. If YC loses, then they will need Amity to beat Dayton to have some sort of tie breaker (I don’t know what this will look like) since Dayton and YC split there series 1-1 and both teams losing to Amity or get voted in by the committee.
My Proposal for voters:
I would like to publicly thank you guys and everyone who had a hand in to put together “The Elite 8”. It makes this season seem somewhat normal with a final four happening in Coos Bay.
With that said, I believe we need to take full advantage of having complete control of who goes to the Elite 8. It’s really cool that we don’t have to rely on a computer to tell us who gets in and who doesn’t. The eye test and knowledge of each team should be the determine factor. De La Salle and whoever finishes third in the PacWest deserves to be in the Elite 8. As long as De La Salle does not lose to Riverdale or Catlin Gabel.
Here is my proposal,
Have a “play in game” between De La Salle and the Third seeded team in the Pac West. Just like how NCAA March Maddness does it. The game could be played at a neutral site on Saturday.
